Susan and Chad, the contrasting parish council couple

Chad from the Parish Council

With the recent revelation that Susan and Chad (both from the Parish Council) are, in fact, a married Catholic couple with divergent views, I wondered how on earth these two could be a happily married couple. Apparently with 8 children (in total between them from current and previous marriages). One of whom is gay.

Is Jesus in the “secret chambers”?

He Is In The Secret Chamber

This teaching is an Adventist invention allowing them to pretend that their 1844 prophecies were still valid. Jesus failed to return in 1844. Their prophecies were proven false. So they claimed that he was in the secret chambers, and his entry was what really happened in 1844.

Quiz: The Sabbath in Acts 13 – Part 2

Still life with Bible, Vincent van Gogh

Acts 13:42-44 (KJV) – And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

Hate mail from an Adventist, May 2019

Angry ant

I got some lovely hate mail from a guy called David Winston. I thought it would be good to share here. It shows how nasty Adventists can be, and how their hatred blinds them to any factual evidence contrary to their way of viewing the world.

3 days and 3 nights – timeline charts

Andrea del Castagno - Crucifixion

Some people think Jesus died on a Wednesday or Thursday, and rose on the sabbath. That means the first day of the week, which Luke says is the 3rd day since the Crucifixion, was really the 5th day, or 4th day, going by the way the Bible counts. But what’s a day or two between friends?

On the THIRD day – getting it right

Icon of the Resurrection

Think about this quickly. Jesus died on a Wednesday. He rose on the sabbath. The next day, Sunday, was the third day since the Crucifixion, which was five days previously. And Jesus rose on the third day.

Huh? That makes no sense, you say? Quite right, it doesn’t. Yet some people, especially the Church of God (CoG) movement derived from Herbert Armstrong, get it muddled to that degree.

Dear Adventists. The sabbath is not God.

South Arabian Sabbath lamp

God does not change. The Bible tells us this. Adventists need to stop using those verses as proof texts that the sabbath doesn’t change. Those passages refer to God, and, unless Adventists think the sabbath is God, those passages do not refer to the sabbath.

What is clear from this table is that there are no deletions by anyone. Every church uses a summary for easy memorisation, but a summary does not mean they have removed anything from the Bible.

Sabbath rest or sabbath worship? – Part 2

Troll, via Uncyclopedia

In my previous post, I looked at how the Bible never calls the sabbath a day of worship. I’ve challenged Adventists to show me where the Bible says it is a day of worship. Needless to say, there were no responses forthcoming that actually provided me with biblical evidence of the Adventist claim.

Prerequisites for a National Sunday law

Pope Benedict XVI wearing a camauro

The Catholic Church simply doesn’t have the influence in modern society to get such a law right, even if it wanted to. It will never happen anyway, but if it did, the world would have to change a LOT. It would be an extreme law, requiring a situation much different to that of today.

Should Catholics be pro or anti vaccination?

Pope Francis giving a polio vaccine

Vaccines and the huge benefits they have brought are a matter of science and history and fact, and there is plenty of evidence for those who are willing to look at it. I’ll briefly comment on some aspects of vaccine success and discuss some legitimate instances where vaccines are inappropriate, and I’ll give useful links below; my purpose here is to make a statement and not to provide several years worth of studying science on one page. I’ll also touch on the valid problem of vaccines tainted with a history of abortion.
