Prolife Andrew over on YouTube has some amazing videos on the problem of abortion in the Seventh-day Adventist church. Andrew, unlike his church, is pro-life. Andrew cites some very telling statistics about abortion in the Adventist church in the embedded video below.
Please pray that his message change Adventism for the better.
15,000+ Abortions in Seventh-day Adventist Hospitals
Andrew cites a Washington Post article, Seventh-Day Adventists and abortion
Some Adventists will have a problem with this. They’ll say that opposing abortion is too Catholic, and, as we know, Adventists resist anything Catholic. Kevin Paulson is cited in the above article as indicating that Adventists are forming erroneous opinions about abortion by listening to Christian pro-life leaders instead of following the Bible and Ellen White.
I stand by my previous post, and say that the abortion situation in the Adventist church proves that they cannot be the true remnant church.
Tesa Beem, a Catholic ex-Adventist, comments on the abortion problem in her resignation letter.
One argument I haven’t yet heard, but could be made based on that article, is that pro-life Catholic hospitals are Daniel’s little horns displacing Adventist abortion mills.

Hi Stephen, I’m new to your Catholic/Adventist blog, but have you ever linked to the OFFICIAL Seventh Day Adventist website *official* stance on Abortion? HERE it is, and this is what it says:
Abortions for reasons of birth control, gender selection, or convenience are not condoned by the Church. Women, at times however, may face exceptional circumstances that present serious moral or medical dilemmas, such as significant threats to the pregnant woman’s life, serious jeopardy to her health, severe congenital defects carefully diagnosed in the fetus, and pregnancy resulting from rape or incest. The final decision whether to terminate the pregnancy or not should be made by the pregnant woman after appropriate consultation. She should be aided in her decision by accurate information, biblical principles, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
This is *identical* to the *official* Mormon website stance on abortion! It is ok as long as you pray about it and the Holy Spirit says Yes!
p.s. you should enable your blog comments to have the Follow-Up email check-box where we sign in.

Yes, I’ve linked to it before. Thanks for citing it here. Adventism neither condones nor condemns abortions of convenience, and in fact Adventist hospitals are, collectively, one of the largest “Christian” abortion-on-demand providers in the world. Adventism, corporately, is in no way pro-life. Movements within Adventism to try to bring the pro-life message are silenced, but in spite of that there is a growing reform movement to change the church. Adventism condemns smoking, gambling, and Sunday worship … but not the taking of human life. That makes their claim to be a 10-commandment church hypocrisy – they’re really just an 8 commandment church, or a 9 commandment church at best.
If Mormons say the same, then their teaching is just as deficient. I don’t know of any Mormon abortuaries, however. If they exist, then Mormonism is in the same moral pit as Adventism is. They can all pray about it all they like, but it doesn’t make it right if they feel justified after prayer to take another human life.
