Ellen White centenary prayers (novena) – Day 6

The Dietary Laws of Moses

Today, leading up to the centenary of Ellen White’s death, we pray for Adventism, which teaches its followers to try to live according to selected laws of the Old Covenant. There were many health-related laws under the Old Covenant, but these are not used by Adventism. Dietary laws were symbolic, and Peter was shown one aspect of the symbolism in vision. It is not our diet that God is pleased with, it is our heart. We pray that God reveal this to the followers of Adventism.

God did not prohibit the Hebrews from eating swine’s flesh merely to show his authority, but because it was not a proper article of food for man. It would fill the system with scrofula, and especially in that warm climate produce leprosy and disease of various kinds.
– Ellen White, Healthful Living, p183

You should be teaching your children. You should be instructing them how to shun the vices and corruption’s of this age. Instead of this, many are studying how to get something good to eat. You place upon your tables butter, eggs, and meat and then your children partake of them. They are fed with the very things that will excite their animal passions, and then you come to meeting and ask God to bless and save your children. How high do your prayers go?
– Ellen White, Testimonies, Vol 2, p362

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. [15] Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
– Isaiah 7:14-15 [KJV]

And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; [19] Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? [20] And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
– Mark 7:18-20 [KJV]

I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. [15] But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
– Romans 14:14-15 [KJV]

Hail Mary, full of grace, mother of Christians,
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Ellen White, mother of Adventism,
pray for those who follow what you taught during your life on earth.
Now that you are in God’s presence, you can see the sad reality
of the errors you brought your children.
Together with us, ask God to send his grace on the Adventist church,
so that it might see the beauty and love and truth
to be found in the original Christian faith,
and return to the faith of the Apostles,
the faith recorded in the Bible.
Amen

Holy Michael the Archangel,
Pray for us.

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
Pray for us.

Joseph and the Patriarchs,
Pray for us.

Moses and all the Old Testament Saints,
Pray for us.

Saint Peter, Saint Paul, and all the Holy Apostles,
Pray for us.

St Ignatius of Antioch, St Polycarp, St Justin Martyr,
Pray for us.

Souls of all those who served God in the Adventist church,
Pray for us.

Holy Souls in Purgatory,
Pray for us.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, make me holy.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, make me strong.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Hide me within Your wounds.
Let me never be separated from You.
Deliver me from the wicked enemy.
Call me at the hour of my death,
And tell me to come to You,
That with Your saints I may praise you
Forever. Amen

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen

Glory be to the Father +, and to the Son +, and to the Holy Spirit +,
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen
