Something I wanted to develop for sometime, because it is only partly dealt with in my post on Matthew 5<\/a>, is whether or not the law has been fulfilled, and whether the heavens and earth have passed away.<\/p>\n

There I quote the following:<\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 5:17 \u201cTherefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Galatians 6:15 \u201cFor neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 15:22, 45 \u201cFor as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. … (45) Thus it is written, \u2018The first man Adam became a living being\u2019; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ephesians 2:10 \u201cFor we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus.\u201d (RSV)<\/span><\/p>\n

Teresa Beem goes further<\/a> with more discussion of “For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled<\/span>” (Matt 5:18) in her blog post The Sabbath, It is Finished<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Seventh-day Adventists believe that in these two texts Jesus was speaking of the fulfillment of all things at the Second Coming. That the law given to the Hebrews at Sinai is still in effect (at least some aspects of it) for Christians today because the Kingdom hasn\u2019t yet come. According to Adventists, not a jot or tittle can be changed because at the Cross, all things were not fulfilled<\/i>, God\u2019s Kingdom did not come.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also points to “I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom<\/span>” (Matt 26:29) and shows when Jesus actually did do just that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
