Rabbi Shocks With Unparalleled Approval of Cloned Pigs As Kosher – World Religion News
From 2.5 years ago, long before COVID-19, long after Hepatitis E. So … if pork grown in vats or on cloned pigs can be kosher, what will Adventists think?

QAnon – a New Religion or the Latest Stupidity? – World Religion News
Posted under the Adventist section because they are the ones usually prone to conspiracy theories. Oh, but the Catholics have their own nutters now …

2020 THC Webinar with CMDA – Dallas Theological Seminary Hendricks Center / Christian Medical & Dental Associations
Speakers are Darrell Bock, Stephen Ko, Jeff Barrows, all doctors/professors of something, and clearly up to date and spot on in their analyses.
A very good webinar on the Christian response to returning to church services as COVID-19 starts to fade. Not specifically Catholic, but the views and answers are the same. Definitely worth watching. I’ll embed it below.

What Happened at the Council of Nicaea? – L Arik Greenberg, World Religion News
This is so true. “I often hear people speak in hushed and conspiratorial tones — as if they were divulging a well-guarded secret — about how the Catholic Church changed the entire tenor of true Christianity following the Council of Nicaea and how at that ecumenical council they voted on and fundamentally changed the contents of the entire Bible as we know it. Occasionally, I have heard this from academics as well — not New Testament scholars, of course, since we know better than this.”

How Pets Can Aid Us in Becoming More Christlike and Better Serve Others – National Catholic Register
The author gets a lot right and a lot wrong. He has the best description of those who think animals don’t go to heaven. But he makes a common mistake when quoting CS Lewis – “if we need our pets to be completely happy in heaven, God will supply them.” It’s not about our ability to be completely happy in heaven. If we can be completely happy in heaven while some of our loved ones are screaming in hell for all eternity, we certainly won’t need our pets to make us happy. It’s much bigger than that, and I think he missed the point.

Priest accidentally converts Trump to Democrat – WDTPRS
Fr Zuhlsdorf has adopted various various COVID-19 conspiracy theories which are expressed in some of his blog posts. Here he says that the “virus, once it escaped the lab, was purposely released” – which is nonsense. There is no scientific evidence for either idea, and plenty against them. And he’s mixed two contradictory conspiracy theories and fused them into one, without realising they contradict each other. The virus could not have escaped and then been released. If it escaped, that escape was when it entered the human population. If it was purposefully released, it did not escape. This sort of contradiction is common amongst those who adopt this sort of nonsense. “Another example of people not knowing what they do not know.”
Now he goes one step further, and is having his exorcisms aimed, by God no less, in Trump’s direction to help protect him from mythical curses. His readers go one step further with their racist comments about the Amharic alphabet, comments which indicate their white Anglo-Saxon origins – West Is Best. They had better be careful – if they aim too many exorcisms in Trump’s direction, he might become a Democrat.
