I.e. general absolution. There would be no way for deliberate entrapment to occur either. A further alternative mentioned in the comments would be a more interrogatory approach – the priest asks general questions relating to each type of sin, and the penitent answers Yes\/No. Still open to entrapment, though. The first and second rites both being individual confession to a priest, the latter having a penitential liturgy beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With SARS-CoV-2 causing a higher mortality rate in the elderly, this is certainly a wonderful escape for the bishop, Bishop Joseph Zhu Baoyu. At that age, he may well be the oldest person infected thus far as well. Indications are that children have a much lower mortality rate than average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excommunicated hermits – and their cats – finally find peace<\/a><\/strong> – National Catholic Reporter<\/em>
The Hermits of Westray, who formally went into schism in 2019<\/strong><\/a> and were eventually excommunicated by their bishop, are getting financial help from conservative Catholics taken in by the traditionalist anti-Francis right wing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
