No, they are not spurious accounts.\u00a0 They are quite genuine, according to historians.\u00a0Bacchiocchi’s<\/a>\u00a0interpretation is flawed, as has been pointed out by plenty of others.\u00a0 Where he cannot claim they are spurious, he plays them down, interpreting them the way he must in order to promote his point.\u00a0\u00a0The Vatican has even brought his credentials into question<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for snide remarks,\u00a0Kissell<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Bacchiocchi<\/a>\u00a0seem to have much in common.\u00a0 Not the same denomination, but birds of a feather.<\/p>\n
