Dear Stephen,
It is a pity that you are only hearing about the bad things about the SDA church. I am not writing this article to argue about anything. I just feel compelled to tell you that I have been a SDA member all my life and my father is an SDA minister and never once has he or any other minister tried to force Ellen White down my throat.
It is true that some members rely too much on her writings.
BUT
I can guarantee you that if you walk into any church on a Sabbath morning for the main service you will hear Gods Word being preached. Having lived with a minister for a long time I know what goes into preparing a sermon and it is definitely NOT only EGW.
For those people who have had unpleasant experiences in the church, I am sure that if you sit down for 5 minutes and just think about it you will find that you had that experience with another person in church and not the church itself. No Christian denomination will ever try and give or cause a member to have an unpleasant experience at church.
Remember, we do not go to church for the sake of other people. If you are doing that then I am sorry to say that you are not really going to church for the right reason. It is then better to stay away.
Stephen I hope you post this comment on your website. It seems as if there are only negative things about the church on your website. I am sure that a positive comment will also be appreciated.
